Big Changes

Stay up to date with the transitions taking place at Lexington Market. Below we’ve highlighted some the key points out of our Master Plan so you can see what to expect in the coming years.

WE’RE IN GOOD HANDS

We’re working with planners who have revitalized historic markets all around America.

BRINGING YOU MORE CHOICES

We will seek to provide a greater diversity of food vendors, from old favorites to new culinary choices—including coffee and fresh baked breads.

INSIDE, WE’LL BE REMODELING

and expanding vendor booths, widening aisles, and simplifying our layout. Vendors will have more room for cooking, prep, and display. Some will even have counter seating.

FARMERS’ MARKET

We’ll build an outdoor farmers’ market where merchants can sell locally sourced products straight from the farmers, fisherman and makers.

WE WON’T BE CLOSING

It is our goal to keep the Market in operation during construction so we can continue to provide the staple food products that so many depend upon on a daily basis.

LATER HOURS

Lexington Market will start staying open later in the evening to remain accessible to our closest neighbors in the evenings.

MAINTAINING AFFORDABILITY

We’ll work to provide affordable vending opportunities, particularly for independent, locally-owned businesses and regional farmers.

COMMUNITY SPACES

We want to build special event and education spaces, including a demonstration kitchen, a cooking lab for kids, and a shared commercial kitchen, all in support of the Market’s wellness mission.

VOICE YOUR OPINION BY FILLING OUT OUR SURVEY

We will continue to seek feedback from all friends of Lexington Market: vendors, farmers, our customers and neighbors, partners, and new tenants. We want to continue to strengthen the master plan and build support for this project.
